General Education Analysis

It's difficult for me to summarize all of my classes in one post, because I had very different experiences in each course. Some classes ranged from extremely difficult to very easy. Some classes I learned a lot of new material and other classes felt like eleven weeks worth of review. For instance, art history and design history felt very elementary for me. This isn't to take away any credit from my instructors. It's just that I was already well educated on most of these topics due to personal interests of mine. However, I wish I would have payed more attention in business law and career development. I say this because I found them very boring, and although I obtained decent grades in these courses I didn't walk away from them remembering a great deal of information. In a further note, some classes are so fun that I didn't even realize I was learning. These classes would include critical thinking, psychology, and world civilization. The instructors for these classes are well experienced and great at getting their students involved. However, I've never been a huge fan of math or Spanish and my attitude was reflected in my grade. As I think back and reflect on my overall general education there's just a massive spectrum of thoughts and feelings from all of these classes individually.

  1. This is a good example of how a blog can get you thinking about some things you can write more about in an assignment. I see several ideas and examples that will work well for Assignment A. For example, you could provides some ideas to faculty members who find they are working with a student for whom the class is review. What can be done to work with those students who might be ready for more than review? You could also talk more about your own motivation and what advice you would give incoming students based on your experience.
